It’s not every wedding I wake up in a hotel room with a beautiful view first thing in the morning. The Resort at Cypress Hills in Saskatchewan was the place that was possible. My husband (and assistant for the day) and I arrived the day before the wedding and had the opportunity to meet with the bride and groom and some friends who had come to the wedding. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere that whole evening. We got to walk around the location and just soak in the beauty around us.

Friday, the day of the wedding was just perfect. It was cloudy, but just cloudy enough to diffuse the harsh sunlight, and not too dark to make us worry that we’d all be rained on. I think those who plan an outdoor wedding pray extra hard for nice weather and prayers were definitely answered this day! 🙂

I enjoyed all the details that made the wedding personal to Marissa and Elias. Her shoes for example, so cool! She wore her comfortable Converse all day, and the best part…they totally matched the wedding colors! The bouquet, done by Kelli Dee Florals, was just so so beautiful!! At every wedding I think now I’ve seen the most perfect bouquet. I guess I just love flowers, and then flowers arranged into a bridal bouquet? Just perfect! She wore a stunning gown from Unveiled Dress Co. and her sister in law did an amazing job on her hair.

Marissa and Elias decided to do a first look before the wedding, which of course had not only the groom, but the photographer tearing up as well. Such a sweet, intimate moment.

I think our bride and groom would agree that the day was so perfect. The outdoor wedding, the music done by her brother and his girlfriend as well as a few friends was just absolutely beautiful! Family and friends came together to celebrate with them. They all looked stunning by the way.

The Reception. The food done by the Resort was delicious! (As I write here, it’s lunch time and I could go for that chicken again. 🙂 ) They first danced to “Take My Hand” by Emily Hackett, which was AMAZING! From there all the guests went outside for a quick photo. I loved how easy that was. Everyone was on board and before we knew it, the reception continued inside.

I’m so happy for Marissa & Elias, and it was a true honor to be trusted with the capturing of these memories.
