Megan & Antoine’s Wedding

From the day I met Megan & Antoine at Lethbridge University for our first consult, I knew they were going to be awesome to work with! After having met them and later captured their winter engagement pictures, I was already super excited for their summer wedding!!

The Wedding Day. I love LOVE photographing details. There was a time when I gave the option to do getting ready and detail pictures or not, but now I can’t recommend that enough. If you want to share your wedding day with friends, or even in the future with your children, these pictures just make the story more complete. This way you have your invitation, your jewelry, anything that was special to you, all in one place. Each piece has its own story to tell, like her necklace was a gift from Antoine, or her earrings were her grandmother’s…

Tip for future brides. Future brides, make sure to give your photographer enough time to capture these memories for you. Also, write down anything that is significant to you and give that list to your photographer. I recommend placing all the details in a box in one place on the morning of your wedding, so that your photographer will for sure not forget anything important.

Getting ready. The girls were having a good time. Megan’s cousin Mekena did her hair, and she did an amazing job! Makeup was done by Hayley Weir, which was flawless. And can we just talk about that coffee mug for a bit?!?! I think I’m getting myself one of those. 🙂

Everyone was relaxed, and if Megan was at all nervous, her friends found ways to help her forget about it. 🙂 The bridesmaids all together gave Megan a gift. I absolutely loved Megan’s reaction to it. She’s so sweet.

The Wedding was filled with tears of joy, smiles and laughter.(thanks to Pastor Luke:)

Family Photos

I loved that Megan and Antoine were able to get a family photo of both extended families. (something I can’t even imagine coming from a large family. 🙂 )

The reception at the Italian Canadian Cultural Centre was beautiful, fun and super sweet, from the smallest details in the decorations to the speeches to the dances and everything in between. My favorite part had to be the “kissing game”. Traditionally guests will click their glasses to entice the couple to kiss. At this wedding they had to serenade the bride and groom with a love song! That was the coolest, most interactive thing I’ve ever seen at a wedding reception! And the bride and groom most definitely came up with creative ways to kiss after each song!!

This blog post is getting long, so we’ll finish it off with some of my favorite bridal party and husband and wife portraits.

To the couple: Thank you a million for letting me celebrate with you. Congratulations on your marriage and may God bless you with many wonderful years!!
